▶Objectives
The project aims to increase the relevance and engagement level of mathematical education by popularizing our gamification and “learning-by-moving” methods proven successful by the Medve Matek Program in Hungary. We wish to leverage our respective extensive networks and make new connections to increase the impact of our activities at a European level in order to transfer, exchange, develop and implement new and improve existing practices through sharing ideas and best practices.
▶Activities
1. Knowledge transfer: Exchange know-how and best practices via in-person and online workshops. 2. Constituency building: Connect with local (and international/expat) stakeholders, schools, STEM educators in Belgium via in-person meetings, dialogues and tailored activities. 3. Adapting educational material: to different European languages and tailoring it to a multinational environment. 4. Event organization: Organize an “International Festival of Logical Thinking” event once a year.
▶Impact
We expect to break the common beliefs that math is only for "geniuses" or that girls are “just not as good” at STEM as boys. We hope to provide and develop engaging activities for children, popularizing mathematics and advocating its importance in all aspects of life. The key outcome of this program is to form the foundation of an international community aiming to equip a next generation of kids with the necessary skills to face, master and control the advanced technologies of the 21st century.
