▶Objectives
The project aims to explore the use of artificial intelligence (AI) as a tool to support language teaching in HEI. It will examine the advantages and critical issues arising from the adoption of AI-enabled tools in language learning and translation. The final objective is enable both students and teachers to use AI-enabled tools for translation and language learning in a responsible and conscious way, promoting innovative methodologies and effective teaching practices.

The project aims to realize: - a comprehensive overview of the opportunities offered by AI for language teaching, highlighting the pros and cons of the various tools; - guidelines for a conscious and critical use of AI in HEIs, targeting both students and teachers - a teacher training programme about the integration of AI-enabled tools into the language education process - guidelines for the responsible and ethical use of AI-enabled tools
▶Impact
Qualitative and quantitative research will examine the main AI-enabled tools for language teaching and translation, based on literature review and testing by experts. This will allow to identify advantages, limitations and practical applications of the AI-enabled tools. Case studies and pilot testing of AI tools in university classrooms will be conducted. In addition, a teacher training programme will be developed with guidelines for integrating AI into language teaching.
