โถObjectives
The V.I.B.E project aims to empower 30 adults aged 55+ by promoting active aging and wellbeing through volunteering. By educating participants on the mental and physical health benefits of volunteering, the project led by Southill Family Resource Centre, APNED, and SPES GmbH will challenge ageist stereotypes, demonstrate the value of older adults, and foster intergenerational connections by linking them with teenagers in educational settings, thus supporting personal growth for both generations.
โถActivities
The project includes key activities: an Initial Meeting for planning; two Adult Learners Mobilities to motivate and engage participants in volunteering and well-being; Mid-Reflections via virtual mobility to assess progress; and a Strategic Outcomes Workshop to evaluate achievements. Additional activities feature soft skills workshops led by adults aged 55+, digital stories of volunteers, a video series documenting their journey, four awareness-raising campaigns, and the development of toolkits.
โถImpact
V.I.B.E. project is expected to improve the mental health and social connections of retired professionals, reduce feelings of isolation, and foster greater well-being. It will also enhance the soft skills of teenagers, such as communication and teamwork, through structured interactions with adult volunteers aged 55+. These outcomes will promote intergenerational understanding and strengthen community cohesion.
