Future Tourism Upskilling in rural areas

The FU-TOUR UP! Project, involving two Local Action Groups based in Italy and Spain, aims at increasing job opportunities for young people living in rural areas in the tourism sector, which is considered the economic engine of these areas due to its innovative capacity and adaptation to transitions (digital, ecological, social and economic).

Through an intensive exchange involving 10 young citizens from two rural areas in Italy and Spain, 10 local entrepreneurs active in the local tourism sector and the staff of 2 Local Action Groups, the project will activate a mutual learning process on the theme of experiential tourism, digital marketing and gamification applied to rural tourism.

Thanks to its dynamic and interactive approach, the project will develop and test an experiential learning module aimed at matching labour market needs and VET, supporting knowledge and practical skills (during the project, participants will test this module and be guided in creating two rural tourist offers including outdoor escape games, digital tools, etc.). This approach will be modelled in the FU-TOUR UP! Guide, to replicate the course and transfer it to different contexts.
