▶Objectives
With DEXTER we aim to increase the quality and inclusiveness of STEM education through scientific literacy and debate-based youth work, train educators, and empower youth participants to debate STEM topics. We seek to foster public engagement with science, increase trust in science, and equip young people to advocate for informed decision-making. We ensure inclusivity by focusing on underrepresented groups, such as girls and disadvantaged youth, supporting their engagement in scientific issues.
▶Activities
DEXTER will develop STEM curricula and a debate toolkit to integrate STEM into youth work. We will train educators to run Science Debate Hubs, combining debates and citizen science projects. Public debates will be organized to engage communities on key scientific topics. We will create STEM debate case studies for youth participants and train Science Ambassadors to lead advocacy efforts in their communities, fostering engagement with scientific issues.
