Objectives

The project goal is to accomplish the priorities of inclusion and increasing VET attractiveness through an inclusive, arts-based workshop designed for students aged 12-14, to enhance creativity, emphasizing the value of manual skills and encouraging students to consider VET pathways, particularly in the construction sector. By fostering an inclusive learning environment, the project also ensures participation of disadvantaged and disabled students.

Activities

The project will design and implement an arts-based workshop where secondary school students and teachers will be involved in practical activities combining visual arts, performing arts, music, and literature. This will be followed by data collection and analysis to determine the effect of the change on students’ career decisions and the efficiency of the workshop.

Impact

The project expects to increase student interest in VET pathways, particularly in the construction industry, by displaying their inclination towards vocational skills through creative and practical experiences. It aims to enhance students' awareness of career options in the trades, thus addressing the skilled labour shortage in this sector. Additionally, the project seeks to develop new pedagogical tools and strategies for educators, fostering a more engaging and inclusive learning environment.
