โ–ถObjectives

We aim to improve the understanding of challenging behavior in persons with intelectual disabilities (ID) by developing a innovate training method using Virtual Reality Simulation and group reflection Training. We hope to create a paradigm shift in the understanding of unwanted challenging behaviour as a form of communication. The underlying reasons for these behaviours are indicators of other problems in their environment. Herby we aim to improve the dignity of life for persons with an ID

โ–ถActivities

We are going to conduct research interviews with Caregivers working in intellectual disability care, Educators of Caregivers for persons with ID and The family/social network. Develop 2 Branched Narrative VR Training scenarios with a train-the-trainer program. Research the impact of the training and method on the target groups, publish a scientific paper and publish the results on EPALE and our Website.

โ–ถImpact

We will deliver a fully functional VR training simulation app with a Train-the-Trainer methodology allowing for interested organisations to implement this innovative method to improve care as well as a scientific paper on the results improving the quality and dignity of life of people with an Intellectual disability and the people around them.
