Effective alumni policies and practices in Finland and the Netherlands: developing guidelines for VET schools
▶Objectives
The main objectives of this Small-scale partnership are: - Gaining insight into the alumni policies, practices and initiatives at national, regional, and individual school levels in Finland and the Netherlands. - Developing guidelines for effective alumni policies in VET schools. - Sharing these guidelines with other VET schools in Europe, allowing them to gain inspiration and (further) develop their own alumni policies.
▶Activities
During this project, we will organise two transnational visits, in Finland and the Netherlands. During these visits we gather information for the development of guidelines on alumni policies in VET schools through interviews with experts. We supplement this information with desk research. We disseminate the project results to relevant stakeholders, such as other VET schools and policy makers on regional and national level through an online event and other dissemination activities.
▶Impact
The main result of this project is a set of guidelines for developing effective alumni policies and practices in VET schools. These guidelines offer strategies for building alumni networks, engaging graduates and maintaining long-term relationships with alumni. They also highlight best practices, based on research and interviews with VET schools, labour market stakeholders, students/alumni and policymakers in Finland and the Netherlands. An online event will be organized to share these outcomes.
