Objectives

In implementing the project, the beneficiary and transnational partner wanted to strengthen the digital skills of senior citizens and increase their awareness of artificial intelligence so that they could function more safely and actively in the world of new technologies. The aim was to help older people become more independent, confident and able to recognise threats such as manipulation, disinformation and unfair online practices. The second important objective was to improve the qualifications of people working with seniors. The organisations planned to equip their staff with knowledge and practical educational materials that could be easily used during workshops and further work with the target group. As a result, it was expected that modern education for seniors would become more accessible, especially in the areas of AI and digital security. The project also aimed to strengthen cooperation between the beneficiary and the transnational partner, enabling the exchange of good practices. The evaluation activities carried out show that the above-mentioned objectives were achieved (and even exceeded).

Activities

First and foremost, the project developed and tested two outcomes: an educational script for people working with senior citizens (containing 19 practical workshop scenarios on the everyday use of AI and supplemented with ready-made worksheets) and a brochure for senior citizens(containing materials for older people, enabling them to navigate the digital world safely, particularly in the context of AI).Additional materials were also developed – both for staff and students – available on the project platform, e.g. quizzes, checklists, etc. In addition, a series of pilot workshops were conducted (as a process of scaling the developed content materials), during which seniors learned practical applications of AI, how to recognise disinformation, how to use digital devices safely, and how to use applications useful in everyday life. At the same time, staff had the opportunity to test the materials and develop their own professional skills. Educational mobility for participants from both countries and working meetings with a transnational partner were also carried out, allowing for the exchange of experiences and joint refinement of educational outcomes. The sustainability of the activities was ensured in the form of two local workshops.

Impact

The results of the project included both intellectual products developed by the partners – a script, brochure, presentations, additional materials on the project platform – and soft results – knowledge and skills acquired by seniors participating in local workshops in each country (as part of the scaling process) and in transnational mobility. The most important outcomes were the intellectual outputs developed jointly by the beneficiary and the transnational partner: a comprehensive educational script for people working with seniors, containing ready-made scenarios and tools for conducting classes, and a brochure for seniors. Both materials were tested and made available online, so that they could continue to be used after the end of the project. The project also yielded important institutional results. The beneficiary and transnational partner developed cooperation and expertise in designing education for seniors. The organisations strengthened their human resources and acquired new work tools, which allowed them to expand their range of activities and increase their visibility in the field of adult education. The methods and materials developed have become a permanent part of the resources of both institutions.
