Objectives

The main objective of the Amazons project is to build the capacity of European girls and young women to become leaders in environmental conservation and climate action. We aim to achieve this by addressing the barriers they face, equipping them with the necessary knowledge, skills, and confidence through mentoring and education, and providing real-world leadership experiences. By the end of the project, we expect to have empowered a new generation of female environmental leaders.

Activities

The Amazons project will implement key activities to empower young women in environmental leadership. These include research on barriers to female leadership, resulting in a report and policy brief, and the creation of 18 video interviews with female environmental leaders. We will also develop an online course on leadership and run mentoring programmes in each partner country. Additionally, we will organise blended mobility for 20 girls, offering real-world leadership experience.

Impact

The Amazons project will produce several key results, including an in-depth report and policy brief on female leadership in conservation, and 18 video interviews with inspiring female leaders. We will develop a Knowledge Hub and an online course to build leadership skills. Additionally, mentoring programmes and blended mobility for 20 girls will enhance their real-world experience.
