▶Objectives
The 'Turn off the light!' project aims at rising awareness of young people about the problem of light pollution and creating proecological attitudes. We assume that the youth who takes part in the project will grow interest in science and change their environment in the future. The project also supports teachers and educators in taking interdisciplinary actions for the young people by increasing the quality and diversity of the educational offer.
▶Activities
The main activity of the project is preparation and implementation of the innovative workshop programme dedicated to young people. The program raises the question of light pollution from different points of view: astronomy, ecology, psychology, computer science and electronics. The youth workers who implement the workshops will gain a complex support from the members of the partner organisations. They can take part in individual consultations on-line.
▶Impact
The project will result in increased competences of the young people taking part in the activities. They will gain experience in group work, analytical thinking and carrying an own research. A professional scientific publication will be prepared based on the astronomical observations obtained by the young people. Publication of the young people's results will strengthen their motivation for further development and creation of civil and ecological attitudes.
