Project Future FM aims to enhance the competencies of high school professors in the forestry sector, focusing on climate smart sustainable forest management (CSFM). This initiative seeks to integrate this hot topic into formal education, thereby enriching the knowledge of forestry students and preparing future foresters for the challenges posed by climate change (CC). Given that CC significantly impacts forest management, it is essential to cover the existing gap in nowadays curriculum.
โถActivities
To achieve our project goals, we will carry out activities in Croatia and Slovenia, engaging 15 professors and 60 students. Main activities include: 1. developing the VET program on the topic of CSFM; 2. implementing the program in schools for professors and students; 3. disseminating the program to relevant stakeholders, and 4. organizing study visits of good practice example of CSFM in partner countries.

Main outcomes are: 1. one VET program on CSFM; 2. enhanced knowledge of 15 professors and 60 students of the forestry high school in CSFM; 3. increased awareness of CC impact on forests and importance of CSFM, but also the need for the updating of the existing forestry high school programs with emerging issues, and 4. strengthened the organizational capacities and network of the four project partners.
