▶Objectives
The objective of the WasteWise project is to support the professional development of employees of public offices involved in waste management and administration. Through capacity building and networking workshops on EU waste legislation and environmental awareness we will strategically enhance waste management practices within municipalities and of other stakeholders, while improving access to high-quality VET opportunities in Slovakia and Italy.
▶Activities
The project is composed of five main activities, at first it will conduct comparative analyses of waste management practices and initiatives in Slovakia and Italy. Based on these findings, set of educational workshops will be tailored for staff engaged in waste management in both partner countries. Complemented by dissemination activities, these efforts will be evenly shared among partners, all contributing to project objectives.
▶Impact
Main result of WasteWise is empowered and trained staff working at municipalities and other stakeholders involved in the waste management in Slovakia and Italy (Sicily). We expect better implementation of EU legislation and regulation, enhanced environmental awareness, capacity building and collaboration between Slovakia and Italy, enhanced working practices, green skills and key competences development in waste management companies.
