▶Objectives
The devastating effects of sudden natural disasters on societies and the environment can be significantly reduced if the awareness, knowledge and perception of young people are changed and their competencies in the disaster management system are improved. DEMSYW aims to produce the necessary digital tools to support youth workers in acquiring and developing basic skills and key competencies in preparedness against earthquakes, floods and landslides.
▶Activities
The digital platform and digital training modules will motivate youth workers and provide knowledge, methodology and skills to combat disasters. Creating IOS and Android games for each type of disaster (earthquake, floods and landslides) and managing them in mobile applications will reveal the digital skills and competencies of youth workers. It will be used to implement training activities, workshops, conferences, pilot tests to reach a wider community
▶Impact
The project will develop innovative education, digital tools to build resilient communities through awareness and preparedness against the risks of earthquakes, floods and landslides. National and international reports will be prepared on awareness, resilience and disaster preparedness. The project results will be a competency pathway planning tool for youth workers,Digital Platform and Digital training modules, mobile application and digital games, and dissemination and promotional materials
