▶Objectives
The Bridge2Uni project aims to ease the transition to university for blind and visually impaired students by training blind and visually impaired students as peer advisors. It includes the development of the training and the piloting of peer counseling. The project promotes social inclusion by building a sustainable network, strengthens cooperation between institutions and raises awareness of the needs of the target group.
▶Activities
The project is developing a training program for blind and visually impaired students to act as peer advisors. This includes the creation of accessible training materials, the piloting of the peer counseling project, regular training and workshops for the peer counselors, the establishment of a support network, the implementation of peer counseling meetings and the promotion of cooperation between schools, universities and social services.
▶Impact
The Bridge2Uni project aims to achieve the following results: a structured training program for blind and visually impaired students as peer advisors, successful implementation and evaluation of the pilot project, establishment of a supportive network, development of accessible materials, improved social inclusion and participation, increased awareness of the needs of the target group and strategies for sustainable integration of the program into existing structures.
