Objectives

Our project aims to raise awareness of language deprivation syndrome among deaf children by providing accessible information and promoting early sign language access. Through training, educational materials, and a final seminar, we empower parents and professionals with diverse perspectives beyond the medical approach. By highlighting Deaf role models, we strengthen the visibility of the Deaf community and advocate for informed choices in deaf education.

Activities

Our project includes: - A test workshop will be organized to raise awareness among professionals and parents about language deprivation syndrome and the importance of early access to sign language. - Creation of accessible resources (guides, videos, testimonials) to inform and support families and professionals. - An event bringing together experts, parents, and stakeholders to discuss project results and promote best practices at the European level.

Impact

Our project aims to: - Professionals and parents will gain a better understanding of language deprivation syndrome and the importance of early exposure to sign language. - Creation of accessible materials to support families and professionals in making informed decisions. - The project will promote the Deaf model, emphasizing the expertise of Deaf individuals in Deaf education and identity. - The final seminar will serve as a platform to engage policymakers, educators, and organizations
