Objectives

To help businesses achieve basic cybersecurity, EU created the NIS directive in 2016. The NIS2 directive was adopted in 2022 because NIS’ weaknesses prevented it from effectively addressing current and new cybersecurity threats, considering that 28% of European SMEs were cybercrime victims in 2021. CYBER-UP will provide advanced cybersecurity and protection training to stakeholders adopting NIS2. The CYBER-UP course will also help SMEs that are not covered by NIS2, improve their cybersecurity.

Activities

CYBER-UP will deliver: A Synthesis Report on existing regulation, SME cybersecurity gaps and top-notch cybersecurity practices tailored to each SME’s needs A Cybersecurity training curricula for VET educators A Cybersecurity training course for the stakeholders A gamified e-Learning platform, forum and online workshops on cybersecurity A toolkit for VET educators creating upskilling pathways for them Policy recommendations to fill in the gap between the micro to large companies’ regulations

Impact

CYBER-UP is expected to have a wide range of positive effects on the VET sector. The cutting-edge cybersecurity course will help SMEs' stakeholders adapt to digital transformation and develop relevant capacities while meeting EU cybersecurity directives. The VET curricula and toolkit will help educators meet labor market needs with an innovative learner-centered curricula and toolkit. The CYBER-UP forum and workshops will build a knowledge-sharing and teamwork community.
