▶Objectives
Resubmission, adjusted proposal based on the feedback (Call 2024) The project aims to design a course to teach students and people of various backgrounds the basics to become technicians in healthcare simulation centers. Technology is a key enabling tool to deliver simulation-based education as much as it can be a hindrance if not managed properly. This project will address the existing gap in the education of simulation technicians by developing a freely available and reproducible course.
▶Activities
We develop a course that is divided into three parts (theoretical, practical and online workshop). The theoretical part will deal with content such as essentials in simulation training as well as state-of-the-art simulation technology, but also innovative technological approaches, followed by the practical course that complements the theoretical knowledge through hands-on activities. The online workshop will clarify open questions and allow the participants to network and deepen their knowledge.
▶Impact
The course comprises 160 hours and highlights technical aspects of healthcare simulation providing theoretical background information, practical exercises and room for exchange. The final course will be summarised in a digital handbook that will be freely available and ensure that the course is easy to reproduce in other simulation centers. By creating a network among participants and partners, we will enable better simulation and raise awareness of the important role of the technicians.
