โ–ถObjectives

BlueGOV was designed to support people to make responsible, ocean-conscious decisions in both their professional and daily lives. It raises an important question: Who are these โ€˜peopleโ€™ that affect and are affected by the ocean? The answer is everyone, but some more than others - in particular, those with decision-making power. With this in mind, BlueGOV aims to foster a new generation of ocean-conscious leaders and communities ensuring ocean literacy becomes more than a concept but a mindset.

โ–ถActivities

The main activities we will carry out are: - Research and analysis of OL challenges; - Develop targeted training program and a practical OL toolbox for coastal authorities, along with capacity-building workshops in pilot regions; - Foster meaningful dialogue and collaboration among key actors through stakeholder engagement sessions; - Inspire communities in ocean-conscious behavior through awareness campaign; - Engage policy-making to promote OL adoption in governance frameworks.

โ–ถImpact

The core results of BlueGOV will be: - Map of critical needs providing a structured analysis of where OL efforts need the most improvement in governance; - A training program with training contents; - A digital e-learning platform and open-access repository containing practical toolbox with best practices to support lifelong learning; - Community awareness campaign; - Policy recommendations for embedding OL into governance frameworks.
