Objectives

This project modernizes nursing education through Human-Centered Design (HCD) and XR-based training. It develops a structured curriculum, AI-assisted XR training tools, and accessible immersive learning. By aligning training with real-world healthcare needs, it enhances skill acquisition, digital readiness, and workforce mobility while fostering policy recommendations at national and EU levels to ensure long-term impact.

Activities

The consortium will address skill needs and will use patient- and student-centered design methods to inform the development of AI-assisted XR training tools. Based on this, an online healthcare pedagogics course and immersive XR exercises will be created. Policy recommendations will guide long-term adoption. A pilot test will assess the impact of the curriculum on teachers and the effectiveness of XR training for VET students.

Impact

The main project results will be: 1. A curriculum for nursing trainers to integrate XR-based education. 2. A Human-Centered Design methodology enabling trainers to create effective XR exercises. 3. A set of 20 XR training exercises (10 manually designed, 10 AI-assisted) with a pilot test. 4. Policy recommendations for embedding XR in healthcare curricula, ensuring long-term adoption and digital transformation.
