βΆObjectives
Low-paid employment and poor working conditions in Europe are a source of insecurity for mobile EU citizens and an obstacle to the free movement of labour within the EU. TRAM4DW aims to adapt employment counselling in the EU to the rapidly changing conditions of 'circular migration'. European workers have an increasing need for adequate preparation for the labour market. TRAM4DW will build counselling capacities and also strengthen the right to decent work in Europe.
βΆActivities
Counsellors enhance their expertise in transnational migration counselling of EU workers. Together with academics, they set up counselling centres in TRAM4DW partner NGOs. Here, trainees are educated in the requirements of the labour markets under the context of 'circular migration'. They learn about the latest national and international trends, gain practical experience and give advice. The need is large and the project is looking at how the hubs can be maintained after the project ends.
βΆImpact
TRAM4DW is a response to the shortage of qualified workers in the EU. Mobile workers will strengthen the European economy if they receive support to unlock and make use of their potential. This requires preventative counselling. The project thus improves the labour and social participation of mobile workers and contributes to strengthening the European rule of law.
