▶Objectives
We want to actively emphasise the value of democracy and living diversity in Europe, oppose racism and anti-Semitism and encourage our participants to get involved in society. As a result, participants will acquire and expand many skills in personal, professional and social areas. Thematically, we will deal with the topic of migration and focus on similarities in (Jewish) history and recent circumstances between Bitola and Chemnitz.
▶Activities
4 activities exploring different aspects of migration: 1. traces of migration: how migrants live in Chemnitz today 2. migration in Jewish history 3. Manaki Brothers Film Festival - ethnic minorities 4. traces of migration - reconciliation and social comittment These will alternate between the two partners. The research results will be processed in the form of a documentary film. Participants will therefore learn the basics skills.
▶Impact
The participants create a documentary film on the topic of migration in Europe in the past and present, focussing on the situations in Bitola and Chemnitz. Part of the film deals with Jewish culture and history and the deportation and genocide during the Second World War. In addition to the film, the participants collect their research results in presentations.
