▶Objectives
Together with school students in Kırşehir, Türkiye, and Remscheid, Germany, we would like to find out what future prospects they have for their cities in 2050. The focus is on dealing with water, transport and energy as well as the fight against climate change and dealing with its consequences. With this project, the participants are fulfilling their civic co-responsibility and the partnership between the cities is being deepened through a shared perspective.
▶Activities
The project is based on the working method of the future workshop: Survey of the current situation - development of a vision for the future - formulation of measures. Workshops and working groups will be held at both locations - separately or in online meetings - sometimes with the involvement of experts. In two on-site meetings, the participants will analyse the ecological situation of the partner city. Contact with local politicians and the public is planned.
▶Impact
The results of workshops and working groups are recorded and a travel diary is kept for the meetings. Contributions from all events will be collected in a cloud/padlet and will thus be available to all participants. The expected outcome is a presentation of the current situation in both cities with regard to water, transport, energy and climate change, a vision for the future and a list of possible measures. The results will be included in a project report.
