The ReStory project aims at developing training tools and methods to boost young people’s awareness of their cities’ public spaces, and narratives connected to those spaces; in order to reconstruct a new sense of belonging, and to actively contribute to reclaim and reshape public spaces in a freely accessible and inclusive way as spaces of — intergenerational, intercultural and cross-milieu — encounters, by using arts and creativity to illustrate and/or change the way people experience them.

ReStory activities will include research on young people’s experience in public spaces and on the narratives connected with those public spaces and their communities; three transnational Methodology Development Meetings and one international good practice exchange; pilots on arts-based sensory exploration of public spaces and on art intervention in the field and connecting with the community; and finally dissemination through public events and online communication.

ReStory will create a publication compiling theoretical backgrounds and a toolkit including 12+ methods on arts-based sensory exploration of public spaces and on participative artistic interventions in the field. It will also document research and pilots implemented within the project, and narratives on public spaces important to young people as researched and reconstructed within the project, sharing community stories of young and older people. All results will be available for free download.
