Urban areas face intensifying climate threats and rising climate anxiety among youth. Y-RESCUE tackles these by empowering 300 young people (18–30) and youth organizations across European partner countries to co-create local resilience projects. Through training, leadership development, and cross-sector collaboration, we aim to transform climate concern into concrete action, enhance youth entrepreneurship, and position young leaders at the forefront of sustainable urban change.

In this project, partners and participants will map local climate risks, attend specialized workshops on project management and advocacy, and prototype real-world solutions for issues like flooding or heat islands. Using peer learning, digital toolkits, and ongoing mentorship, youth teams will implement small-scale pilots in urban neighborhoods. This hands-on, co-creative methodology ensures each activity addresses genuine community needs and fosters lasting impact.

We anticipate tangible improvements in local resilience alongside stronger leadership skills and community engagement among youth. Our digital resources and policy briefs should circulate widely to inspire replication. Long term, we expect expanded youth networks, sustained climate actions, and durable partnerships with stakeholders, ensuring that the project’s momentum endures beyond its formal funding period.
