▶Objectives
By implementing this project we want to give the youth a greater connection to the EU's democratic life. To do this we will develop the youth's civic competences, and their knowledge of the role these competences can play in the democratic life of the EU. We want to help the youth understand the fundamental connection between local issues and European solutions, and how civic competences are essential for utilising this connection to solve issues in their local communities and across Europe.
▶Activities
We will implement a series of online events for university students where they can debate different issues and aspects of their curricula. We will also stage a series of educational workshops for secondary school students on civic competences. There will also be a collaborative project course for university students to formulate proposals for their own solutions to local issues. All the data gathered across the project activities will be used to create a toolkit to generate long-term impact.
▶Impact
Key results of this project will be the improved knowledge of civic competences among students, as well as an enhancement of their own civic competences. There will also be the formulation of updated practical methods in civic competence education to achieve this enhancement. Additionally, teachers working on civic competence education will be able to facilitate more engaging experiences for students working on civic competences and students will find their educational experience improved.
