Objectives

The H.E.R.I.T.A.G.E. project aims to integrate museum-based sustainability education into adult learning, enhance digital competencies of educators and promote green skills through gamified and experiential learning. By researching AR, VR and AI-powered tools, the project fosters interactive, accessible and inclusive museum education, strengthening lifelong learning and climate awareness in communities.

Activities

The project will develop a Digital Innovation Handbook for Museum Educators (PR1) that explores AR, VR and AI technologies, a Strategic Framework for Sustainable Museum Education (PR2), an open-access toolkit, and an open-source Interactive E-Learning Platform (PR3). It will also offer Museum-Based Training for 50 educators, along with a Conference and Multiplier Events and Local Activities designed to engage at least 1,000 participants.

Impact

The project will create a long-term digital learning hub, ensuring museums become active sustainability education spaces. It will train educators, engage communities and influence policy, ensuring continued access to innovative digital museum learning tools. It will build cross-sectoral connections and promote cultural awareness and intercultural interactions. The results will remain open-access, fostering intergenerational and lifelong climate education beyond the project’s duration.
