Objectives

The main objective of this project is to improve the psycho-social condition of prisoners by using dance as a tool for liberation, empowerment and identity creation, amplifying an effective process of re-education and social reintegration. The aim is to create an innovative methodology for the direct benefit of the prisoners, the penitentiary institutions, the artists, the involved organisations, and in general the wider global system.

Activities

During the project we will carry out two trainings for the consolidation of a PRO methodology and a PEER for the realisation of the dance workshops. The improvement will be tested by activating two dance laboratories in prison in each country. A method of competence analysis will be jointly developed and applied throughout the project to evaluate the impact of dance in prison on the wider system. At the end a digital guide containing the innovative methodology will be created.

Impact

The outcomes will be: The creation of a guide containing two methods that include working with dance and a set of tools for the recognition of competences, benefits and impacts at different levels. Organisation and monitoring of two professional dance workshops in It and ES prisons. Two trainings for IT and ES dance professionals: the first one on PRO dance group and the other one on PEER dance method. Organisation of two workshops for Peer-dancers (IT and ES).
