Objectives

Due to the high demand for skilled employment in traditional manufacturing industries (toys, textiles, footwear, etc.) and the high youth unemployment rates, which in many countries exceed 20% while in the U it is 15%, the project aims to address the lack of specific training in STEM profiles through Virtual and Augmented Reality programs. These programs promote employability and respond to the industry's difficulty in hiring profiles such as mold adjusters or industrial designers.

Activities

The activities to be developed include the creation of specific programs for the manufacturing industry that accurately recreate a real working environment in AR and VR to enhance STEM skills. Additionally, the project will involve the implementation of pilot tests with students and collaboration with industry partners to ensure real-world relevance and monitoring of results to explore the possibility of applying similar methodologies to other manufacturing sectors.

Impact

The expected outcomes of the project are to increase the number of students interested in this training, which will directly contribute to reducing the demand for qualified personnel in the sector and youth unemployment in the regions. This is also linked to improving students employability and minimizing the transition from an educational environment to a work environment, particularly regarding safety.
