Objectives

This project enhances traffic teacher training by integrating simulator technology into the education of future instructors. This modernizes teaching and better prepares students for real-world driving. The main objectives are to analyze and compare simulator-based teaching practices in Finland and Norway, develop a simulator pedagogy model, and test this model through pilot training with traffic teacher educators.

Activities

The project consists of interconnected work packages: an exchange visit to Norway, a Simulation Wizard presentation with data collection, regular online meetings, development of a structured simulator pedagogy model, pilot training sessions, an evaluation phase, and a one-day dissemination seminar in Finland to share results and integrate them into traffic teacher education.

Impact

We expect a validated simulator-based teaching model integrated into traffic teacher education curricula, comprehensive digital training materials, and measurable improvements in digital pedagogical competencies. The project will also strengthen transnational collaboration and foster widespread adoption of innovative digital teaching practices.
