Objectives

The project aims to increase youth political efficacy and voter turnout by providing accessible and engaging democracy education in the form of election compasses, to help young voters make informed decisions and increase their political literacy. By fostering political awareness and participation among youth, the project seeks to strengthen democratic participation and civic engagement across partner countries, ultimately empowering young Europeans to play an active role in democracy.

Activities

The project will develop and launch election compasses for three parliamentary elections in Finland, Estonia, and Denmark. Key activities include content creation, local adaptation of the election compasses, technical development, youth outreach campaigns, and a guidebook for election compasses. Partners will collaborate to design a user-friendly digital tool, conduct promotional campaigns, engage in research, and collect data to evaluate the effectiveness of the compasses.

Impact

The project will result in three widely used youth election compasses, reaching around 400 000 current and future young voters. Expected outcomes include increased political awareness and engagement among youth, improved voter literacy, and higher propensity to vote. Additionally, the project will produce guidelines for creating election compasses, foster international collaboration among youth organisations, and provide long-term tools for enhancing youth participation in future elections.
