Objectives

The main objective of the FLOW project is fostering synergies and transnational cooperation to support the application of the European right to water. This objective will be attained in two ways: first, by empowering communities affected by water poverty through innovative and educational tools; and second, by enhancing the capacity of local authorities and raising awareness to improve water access for vulnerable and marginalised communities.

Activities

FLOW aims to exchange good practices and experiences on community mobilisation to address water poverty in France,Spain, and Italy, which will both enhance the quality of work and practices and enable transformation and change at the community level for those affected by water poverty. The project develops immersive tools to raise awareness on the challenges surrounding water precarity and methodological guides for authorities to identify water poverty thus aligning with and committing to EU law.

Impact

As a result of the project, FLOW members will acquire advanced skills and in depth knowledge in community mobilisation, while also developing innovative learning spaces that promote peer-to-peer learning and empower community-driven solutions. Moreover, public authorities will be provided with adequate tools to assess and respond to water poverty in their territory as well as interactive media offering knowledge, methodologies and tools for more inclusive/sustainable water management practices.
