OPEN EU is a novel and transformative adult education project which is designed to combat prejudice, inequality and the politics of anti-immigrant fear permeating across Europe. It unlocks the potential of inclusive storytelling, communities of practice and informal adult learning via podcasting to bring shared human stories from locals, migrants and displaced persons to life, creating safe spaces for connection, learning, creative reflection, common values and hope.

It will implement 22 core project activities across three key work packages leading to the creation of: R.1 OPEN EU Communities of Practice (5) R.2 Combined Study - Two Sides to Migration Stories in Europe R.3 Community Workshops (core offering of 5) R.4 Narratives for Equality Podcast (20+ episodes) R.4 Digital Storytelling and Learning Hub R.5 OPEN EU Festivals of Belonging (5) R.6 Transferability Guide
▶Impact
OPEN EU will upskill 20 adult educators/partner staff, 75+ adult learners (locals, migrants and displaced persons) leading to more inclusive, welcoming communities in partner regions of Strasbourg (FR), Innsbruck (AU), Roscommon (IE) and Sumy (UKR). 1000+ active in adult education and/or inclusion nationally and across the EU will download and learn from our resources. OPEN EU’s best practices in inclusive community building, will impact efforts to rebuild post-war community cohesion.
