Objectives

SAILeR aims to provide a new perspective on learning design starting from an educators’ vision of a study program and courses aligned with the study program. Educators will have a conductor role, but will be supported by an AI assistant and a free-to-use learning design tool. Learning analytics will help educators to prepare meaningful learning design and be used as the basis for AI-supported learning content creation. Our aim is to engage at least 1000 educators in Europe and worldwide.

Activities

SAILeR will follow the steps of the Design Thinking process and human-centred learning design and software development supporting that. The WPs focus on creating a vision of learning design (LD) at study program and course level; using AI assistance to develop LD and create content aligned with the LD; and leveraging the benefits of LD at a study program level. Each WP starts with educators’ needs analysis, followed by development of overarching concepts, supporting tools and learning materials.

Impact

Main results are new concepts and tools related to learning design (LD) supported by meaningful and ethical use of AI. They will be informed by and described in research papers and reports related to educators’ perspectives on creating visions of LD, AI assistance in LD and creation of learning content, and 6 case studies of study program development in educational contexts. Learning materials, workshops and presentations will result in a broad reach and training based on the developed concepts.
