Objectives

Rural Social Enterprise plays a vital role in the delivery of essential services in areas more disadvantaged. Volunteer Labour is a crucial component at all levels of these organisation, from strategic leadership to day-today activity. Basd on the methodologies and values of Service Learning, the project will give Social Enteprise volunteers the chance to learn and develop in their local social enterprise in a way that directly serves their social enterprise capacity development needs.

Activities

1) Comprehensive Quality Assurance Led Project Management 2) Developing the Volunteer Staff member - New Opportunities & Challenges for Rural Social Enterprise in Post Pandemic Ireland and Portugal - Research Report 3) Blended Learning Training programme at EQF level 3-5 for Social Enterprise Volunteers on Moodle Platform 4) Rural Social Enterprise Volunteer Learning - Test and Validation - 40 hour workshops with organisation mentor element 5) Conferences in Ireland and Portugal

Impact

This project will change the traditional passive role of rural Social Enterprise Volunteer Staff to one of active Learning influence in the organisation. Comprehensive primary and desk based research will shape a 'Hands On' applied research Social Enterprise training programme for volunteers. This will be rigourously tested and made widely available through elearning technoology. The project will serve to coalesce a disconnnected rural social enterprise sector through shared learning experience.
