▶Objectives
The project will provide training to 90 European tour operators on universal accessibility and inclusive tourism through the implementation of theoretical-experiential training courses. This will indirectly foster the social inclusion of vulnerable groups and raise awareness among local communities and institutions on the strategic importance of accessible tourism for the territorial, social and economic development of the three countries involved in the partnership (Italy, Portugal and Poland).
▶Activities
The project activities have been designed to be interconnected and complementary. The first activity is general project management. The second activity is stakeholder involvement, with three stakeholder groups contributing to the definition of the content of the training programme on accessible tourism. The third activity relates to selecting the final beneficiaries of the course. Finally, the fourth activity is the implementation of the theoretical-experiential training programme.
▶Impact
The project will deliver a training course for 90 operators on the topic of accessible tourism. In addition, guidelines and analyses on real needs will be developed and disseminated. This will foster the birth of informal local networks dedicated to tourism accessibility. Thanks to the planned communication activities, social awareness of the value of inclusive tourism in the 3 countries involved will be raised, creating the conditions for replicating the experience also in other EU countries.
