▶Objectives
CIVICA aims to enhance the knowledge and awareness of adults from diverse backgrounds—especially unemployed individuals aged 18- 40 and N.E.E.T.s —by introducing innovative models of civic agriculture and sustainable agricultural practices. The project highlights existing opportunities in this field to inspire participation, encourage the launch of new civic agriculture initiatives, and increase citizen engagement in agriculture across both rural and urban areas.
▶Activities
CIVICA includes various activities focused on civic agriculture, such as a study of best practices, policies, and funding opportunities; study visits and partner meetings in Italy, Greece, and Croatia; local workshops and events; video materials and a digital platform with a manual, mentoring tools and an exhibition. The project will conclude with three multiplier events, including a final conference, to disseminate results and promote citizen engagement and social inclusion in agriculture.
▶Impact
The results of CIVICA include a baseline study report, three study visits for at least 36 participants and partners meetings in Italy, Greece, and Croatia, a minimum of 30 hours of onsite and online workshops, events, and videos, three multiplier events with at least 90 participants in total. The project will also develop a digital platform with an exhibition, a manual with practical guidelines for newcomers in civic agriculture, and 10 selected beneficiaries of the platform's mentoring tools.
