The Yacht Engine Room Simulator Integration Project modernizes yacht engineering training by integrating simulation-based learning into vocational education. It enhances practical skills, workforce readiness, and digital transformation, aligning with IMO STCW standards. The project improves training accessibility, competency-based assessments, and industry collaboration, ensuring a skilled, adaptable workforce and sustainable innovation in maritime education.

Activities

The Yacht Engine Room Simulator project modernizes yacht engineering training, by integrating simulation based learning. Led by Foxtrium Limited and GDS Engineering R&D, it develops Yacht Engine Room Simulator to enhance hands-on-training, workforce readiness, and IMO STCW compliance. Activities include simulator development, curriculum integration, pilot training, evaluation, and dissemination, ensuring digital transformation in maritime education.

Impact

The project will deliver a high-fidelity Yacht Engine Room Simulator, integrating scenario-based learning into vocational training. It will enhance technical skills, workforce readiness, and IMO STCW compliance. Pilot sessions will refine teaching methodologies, while dissemination through Erasmus+ platforms, industry events, and maritime networks will ensure long-term adoption and sustainability of simulator-based training.
