JBB wants to expand on the work of SJ to actively engage students and teachers in gaining a better understanding, about the mechanisms of international justice and how societies deal with the crimes included in the Rome Statute and put into practice at the ICC. We will do this by reaching more students and training teachers to train their peers to participate in delivering interactive and engaging lessons on international justice and common values which encourages informed civic engagement.

Students will take part in a four-day in-person on site seminar which will include pre-seminar prep activities, 3 days of interactive workshops and the production of a product in response to the seminar content shared with the community on the fourth day. Teachers involved will have an in-person teacher training seminar in the Hague and then will train teachers in their locale to deliver the program. A teacher training video will be produced by students and professionally edited.

The results will include a teacher training video, a group of teachers in each of the three partner schools trained to disseminate to other educators in their locale how to actively engage students and teachers in gaining a better understanding of how societies deal with the crimes included in the Rome Statute and put into practice at the International Criminal Court (ICC), and further use and updating of the Toolkit from SJ. This and the video will form a resource on the EuroClio website.
