FRIIV addresses the priority of inclusion and diversity in volunteering and how volunteering can contribute to an active and inclusive European society. By focusing on female refugees (both European (e.g. Ukrainian) and non-European backgrounds) as potential volunteers, FRIIV trains volunteer managers and female volunteers who used to be refugees to increase their individual and collective contribution in realizing a more inclusive and culturally diverse volunteering environment.

The State of the Art report will sharpen understanding of the training needs leading to a suitable training package for volunteer managers and female volunteers who used to be refugees to be piloted in two rounds using action learning and action research involving 90 volunteer managers and 270 female volunteers who used to be refugees and female refugees who are potential volunteers. The results will be shared through communication campaigns, events and other materials enabling wide take up.

FRIIV will provide a training course for developing and strengthening the capacities of volunteer managers and female volunteers who used to be refugees to get a better understanding of the situation of female refugees who are potential volunteers, and to use the lived-through experiences of female volunteers who used to be refugees, their valuable contribution to the volunteerorganisation and better management of their volunteering in order to empower them with professional and personal skills.
