▶Objectives
The Golden Languages project aims at fostering high quality opportunities for senior citizens in Europe to participate in specifically designed language courses for their specific needs and learning style that will not only improve their linguistic and communication skills but also their level of social inclusion at local and EU levels. in addition, by participating in these courses we want them to prevent the cognitive decline and guarantee a healthy and active ageing.
▶Activities
All partners will collaborate to create high quality project results that will lead to awareness of adult educational institutions and language schools of the benefits of teacher training and adapting language courses and materials to senior citizens. We will do so by co-creation under a highly structured work plan. For this purpose, we will meet regularly, both online and face to face, and will dedicate a specific time and effort to dissemination of the project so to create a high-level impact
▶Impact
We will create an informative booklet on the benefits of language learning for cognitive decline or promote healthy cognitive aging. This will be followed by a self-learning CPD program for language teachers as well as a set of tools and materials for the senior ESL classroom. We will also create a guide with tips and templates to adapt or create one's own senior material. Finally, we will publish a senior marketing guide and an online tool where teachers and senior students can connect to othe
