LUME is an acronym for Learn, Use, Monitor, Expand • Learn: new language skills and learning strategies. • Use: in real-life contexts to reinforce learning. • Monitor: metacognitive awareness, tracking progress, adjusting strategies. • Expand: Building on existing skills to gain fluency and confidence. LUME aims at implementing a strategy-focused pedagogy for adult second language learning and literacy (LESLLA) classrooms. Strategies help the learner understand how to learn a new language.

LUME achieves its goals by developing tools for learners and teachers, by providing teacher training, and by providing guidelines for implementation.
