The goal is to increase ecosystem services (ES), promote local biodiversity, and turn these spaces into tools to increase cities' climate resilience and improve well-being. Also aims to support and tighten relations between municipalities and its citizens by acknowledging their pivotal role in initiatives success and preservation of UGBSs.

Activities

The project will work closely with municipalities to better understand the policies, challenges, and perspectives for managing UGBSs. As the project progresses, it will also bring environmental experts (EEs) and local communities, facilitating co-creation between all these stakeholders. It will have resources specifically developed to meet the needs of the municipalities, and more universal resources, for adult learners, but that can easily be adopted by the entire population.

Impact

The following outputs will be created: • A guide on sustainable Management and Maintenance Practices (MMP) for UGBS • Successful Environmental Mitigation and Renaturalization cases • 1 LTTA with municipalities, EEs and the project managers • A Guide on European autochthonous and invasive species • A volunteering program to rehabilitate UGBSs • Documentary about the volunteering programme and project i
