Objectives

The BRIDGE project aims to enhance the caregiving skills of individuals supporting family members with disabilities, increasing their confidence and ability to manage responsibilities effectively. By leveraging innovative digital tools aligned with global disability strategies, the project empowers informal caregivers, reduces their burden, and improves care quality. It also equips professionals assisting families with complementary approaches and resources.

Activities

BRIDGE develops and implements a self-help learning and support programme tailored for informal disability caregivers. Delivered via an interactive platform, it combines self-paced learning with community engagement. The programme features a culturally adapted e-manual covering key caregiving topics and a self-assessment tool offering personalised feedback. To disseminate results and foster collaboration, five multiplier events will engage stakeholders at local, national, and European levels.

Impact

Through its interactive platform, BRIDGE enables informal disability caregivers to strengthen their skills, ease caregiving burdens, and gain greater visibility—promoting recognition and dignity. Freely accessible via the project website, the programme supports both caregivers and professionals, contributing to improved care quality and inclusivity. By involving professionals, BRIDGE reinforces support networks and promotes broader recognition of caregivers’ vital contributions.
