Objectives

This project aims to strengthen grassroots democracy by documenting self-governance models, building networks, and enhancing civic engagement in small communities. By connecting NGOs, activists, and cultural practitioners across Europe, it promotes knowledge exchange and arts as tools for participation. It also fosters dialogue with local authorities, ensuring community-led initiatives gain recognition and support for a more inclusive and participatory democracy.

Activities

1/ Two study visits and job-shadowing activities, in Kirkenes and Madeira, engaging with cases of innovative outreach and participation. 2/ Casebook of innovative initiatives, multimedia, compiled and presented to civil society actors 3/ One working group of sector experts, to build upon the casebook and learnings for future collaborations 4/ Dissemination through four sets of multiplier actions

Impact

1/ A network of 20+ local civic actors and participatory artists, having explored new and innovative tools to foster politization of civil society from bottom - up in remote communities. 2/ A casebook to support TGs to apply our methods in different contexts 3/ Greater involvement of local communities into civil actions in the small places and remote areas 4/ Grown capacity of our consortium to develop new actions in the important area of the migrant engagement and critical reflection
