Objectives

With the implementation of the ECO CARE project, we aim to improve the awareness and skills of chronic patients, caregivers, and volunteers regarding the safe and sustainable use of medicines, reduce the amount of unused medications, and promote responsible disposal of pharmaceutical waste. We will develop educational videos, guidelines, workshops, and awareness campaigns that will enhance the quality of care for chronic patients and reduce the environmental and health impacts of medications in

Activities

In the ECO CARE project, we will conduct 4 regional and 8 virtual workshops for caregivers, produce 3 educational videos, develop guidelines for the safe use of medicines, design an awareness poster, and implement the ECO CARE challenge. We will organize dissemination activities, including publications on EPALE, Erasmus+ Project Results, and social media. The materials will be distributed to pharmacies, hospitals, and patient organizations for long-term use.

Impact

The ECO CARE project will enhance caregivers' knowledge of the safe and sustainable use of medicines, reducing improper disposal of pharmaceutical waste. We will develop 3 educational videos, guidelines, an awareness poster, and the ECO CARE challenge, conduct 16 workshops, and ensure the availability of materials through pharmacies, hospitals, and online platforms (EPALE, Erasmus+). We expect greater public awareness, improved patient care, and a reduction in discarded medicines.
