▶Objectives
The main objective of the SmartTourismAcademy project is to create an innovative approach to tourism education in line with the European Green Deal and to promote sustainable and green tourism in Europe. It is based on three pillars that frame its orientation. These are: EDUCATION - ENTREPRENEURSHIP - ENGAGEMENT. The main participants are students and teachers who will be: carriers of background knowledge - implementers of innovative ideas - ambassadors of positive change.
▶Activities
The SmartTourismAcademy will be established as an innovative educational platform. MOOC courses, workshops, field research, volunteering, pilot testing and professional events for the wider community will be implemented. A CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) strategy for sustainable tourism will be developed and the curriculum will be upgraded. 8 Universities are the Principal Investigators and will work with the business and public sectors to promote green and regenerative tourism in Europe.
▶Impact
Expected outcomes include the SmartTourismAcademy as an innovative learning platform, MOOC courses for green transformation, an online database of CSR examples and start-up ideas, a corporate social responsibility strategy, upgraded curricula and research reports from field studies. There will also be a Green Start-up Summit, Symposium and Discussion Panel to support the project objectives. Outputs will enhance green and digital tourism solutions and strengthen ties between academia and practice
