Objectives

With our project, we aim to raise know-how and awareness about climate change and improve sustainable living and waste management. We aim to provide citizens with digital tools to easily access municipal services and information. We increase service quality by encouraging the effective use of mobile applications to reduce carbon footprint and by training staff. We support social equality by increasing the digital literacy of disadvantaged groups through international cooperation.

Activities

By collaborating with European municipalities, sustainability and digital transformation practices will be learned. Training will be provided to municipal employees and field personnel; a SECAP will be prepared for Kapaklı Municipality. Digital applications in waste management will be piloted. With mobile applications, citizens' remote access to municipal services will become easier, and the carbon footprint will decrease. Training will be provided to citizens to raise awareness on these topics.

Impact

This project will contribute to the digital transformation of all partner organisations and raise awareness among their citizens. It will enable the Municipalities of Cascais and Liepaja to advance their climate missions across Europe. It will help Liepaja achieve its goal of becoming the European Capital of Culture in 2027. Kapaklı Municipality has developed its Environmental Policy and Strategic Plan, and this project will greatly benefit the development of its Quality Management System.
