▶Objectives
The SPORTHems project aims to equip youth workers with the skills and knowledge to deliver inclusive sports activities using Hemsball. By encouraging the participation of disadvantaged and disabled young people, the project promotes social inclusion, diversity and physical well-being. Through structured training, digital resources and international collaboration, SPORTHems improves the quality of youth work while increasing access to inclusive sports opportunities.
▶Activities
The project includes structured training for youth workers, digital learning resources, pilot testing and awareness campaigns. Activities will include the development of an inclusive Hemsball curriculum, the organisation of training programmes and the implementation of pilot activities in Turkey, Sweden, Portugal and Serbia. Dissemination events and a final international conference will ensure that the impact of the project reaches a wide audience and remains sustainable.
▶Impact
SPORTHems will provide a comprehensive Hemsball training guide, digital learning modules and structured training programmes for youth workers. The project will enable at least 40 youth workers to deliver inclusive sports activities, benefiting over 100 disadvantaged and disabled young people. By integrating inclusive sport into youth work practice, the project will have a long-term impact on policy, education and community engagement across Europe.
