Rencontre Volley-ball sourd
โถSummary
The project "Recontre Volleyball Sourd" is a friendly sport meeting between several volleyball teams from various European countries with the participation of deaf and hearing people from both gender. The organization between three European deaf teams, has been successful, because of the good understanding and previously long-term relationship. Each club had a specific expertise in different aspects of the project.Forty players from France and the Netherlands (half men and women) came for four days to Madrid to live an extraordinary experience: not just to practise sport, but also to meet other cultures, learn other sign languages, think about the future of sport for deaf people in Europe, to share training with different pedagogical ways to adapt for deaf people and having a tournament between each other. The best part is: this was a tournament inclusive between women, men, hearing and deaf people, players with and without experience. The participation was about 100 persons. Our deaf meeting sport volleyball is an innovation and a success because it is inclusive between deaf and hearing people from all genders. It didn't focus on the sport performance but on sport values, on sharing tools by different methodologies of training volleyball, on helping each other against the decline of deaf volleyball in Europe. We created bounds between the three clubs (six teams), human bounds, not competitive ones, collaboration bounds to create and organise further exchanges. Thanks to the Erasmus+ project, some other clubs or federations are thinking to develop a volleyball team, so that we could build a league of teams with deaf people in Spain.
